37 Weeks and counting...

When we first found out we were having twins and read about all the average twin pregnancies, I was worried that they would be born too early or that I'd have to be on bedrest for several weeks. Average twins are born between 35-36 weeks, but here I am past 37 already! If they were born today, they wouldn't spend any time in the hospital and would likely be around 6lbs each.

Now don't get me wrong, I am very happy that God has blessed us with a very uncomplicated twin pregnancy. However, now I am feeling HUGE and miserable. Here is a picture of my big self at 37 weeks. I measured myself recently and I am very nearly 4' around...an entire foot taller then Maggie! It is getting hard to do practically anything. Grocery shopping is even a major chore (and everyone must notice, I've never had so many people ask me if I need help unloading the cart or putting stuff in the car). We don't have names finalized yet, but at least we have it narrowed down to a short list...a big improvement from last week. Now the only thing is that I don't really want them to be born on my birthday (which is Saturday) or on leap year (it just seems cruel...you already have to share your birthday and then it only happens every four years!). Plus, my doctor is out of town this week. I guess that means they'll have to wait until next week. That will be fine with Maggie anyway. When I ask her if she's ready for her baby sisters to come out, she says "No thank you, babies just stay in mommy's belly." We are enjoying our last days with her alone and trying to squeeze in lots of fun things. Hopefully it won't be much longer though!

Natalie, Just a few minutes before I sat down at the computer I was saying to myself, I won't get to see how big Natalie will get with this pregnancy. Then wow there you were in living color. My ESP kicks in again. ha. Hope you girls both had a wonderful birthday. Nice job on the cake, Mike. Hope to see you soon. Uncle Ray agrees to go with the C section. Natalie, you have been on both of our minds every day and we are as anxious as you are. Can't wait, any time now. Hang in there.
